Just Bought A House? What Plumbing Issues You Should Become Familiar With

Blog

If you recently purchased a house, welcome to the home ownership club. And, although owning your first house can be beyond fun and exciting, it can also come with some home ownership problems like plumbing issues. If you have never had to deal with plumbing issues on your own, then you may not know where to start. This article will list a few common plumbing problems and how to solve them. Read on to learn more.

Backflow Problems

Having a clogged toilet is one thing, but having a toilet with backflow issues is another thing. Backflow happens when there is an unwanted flow of water in the reverse direction which can leave you with a seriously disgusting mess. Luckily, by hiring a plumbing service who has experience with backflow installation and backflow certification, they can help to take care of this issue so that it not only doesn't get worse but also so it hopefully doesn't happen again any time soon.

Clogged Kitchen Sink

You may think that if you have a garbage disposal then you can put virtually anything down your kitchen drain. And although there are a lot of things you can put down your drain, things like celery, coffee grounds, egg shells, lettuce, and other things that can get caught in the blades can end up causing a clog. Before you call a plumber, you can try to get rid of the clog with an all natural solution consisting of baking soda, vinegar, and freshly cut lemons. Simply pour about 1/4 cup of baking soda into your drain, then start pouring vinegar into the drain as well; this will create a bubble-like solution which will help to fight your clog. Once the bubbles have died down, put the lemon slices in your sink and run the garbage disposal; this additional combination should help to really clean things out.

A Shower That Won't Drain

If you have noticed that the water in your shower is having a hard time draining, then you probably have things like soap residue and hair stuck in your p-trap. Although this is easy to remove on your own, if you've never done it before then you should call a professional plumber to come to help you.

Learning All About Plumbing Materials

Hey everyone, my name is Marcell Robins. I am excited to share information about plumbing supplies on this site. Plumbing repair services caught my attention after a pipe burst during the last winter storm. The temperature dropped so quickly that we did not have time to prepare the home for the changes. As a result, one of the pipes running under the laundry room froze shut and popped open at the seams. When the water thawed, it started leaking like crazy beneath the house. It was at that point that I started to learn about the wide range of materials used for plumbing repairs. I want to share that knowledge with you to help everyone correctly maintain the plumbing components throughout their home. Thanks for coming to my website.
